Perched majestically atop a steep limestone cliff that towers 97 meters above the Indian Ocean, Pura Luhur Uluwatu is one of Bali’s most sacred and iconic sea temples.

Pura Uluwatu is not a standalone shrine; it is connected with several pura pesanakan (affiliate temples) including Pura Bajurit, Pura Pererepan, Pura Kulat, Pura Dalem Selonding, and Pura Dalem Pangleburan.
These temples are intricately linked, particularly during the piodalan—a ceremonial anniversary—held every 210 days on Tuesday Kliwon of the Wuku Medangsia calendar. Here, devotees honor Dewa Rudra, a powerful manifestation of the Supreme God in Hindu belief.
