Jatiluwih Eco Farm, A Unique Agricultural Tourism Experience in Bali’s Iconic Rice Terraces, Now Accessible by Helicopter

Bali is globally renowned for its breathtaking beaches and enchanting sunrises and sunsets. Yet, beyond the coastal allure lies a rich tapestry of educational and cultural tourism waiting to be explored. One such hidden gem is Jatiluwih Eco Farm, nestled on the slopes of Mount Batukaru in Tabanan Regency. This eco-conscious destination offers travelers a chance to dive deep into Bali’s agrarian roots and traditional farming lifestyle.

Serving as a more intimate and immersive counterpart to the globally celebrated Jatiluwih Rice Terraces, this eco farm showcases Bali’s time-honored agricultural practices. Here, visitors can participate directly in the life of the farm—plowing fields, planting rice, harvesting crops, and even enjoying a therapeutic mud bath.

Officially opening its doors on April 17, 2025, Jatiluwih Eco Farm is set to become a benchmark for eco-agrotourism in Bali. With the flexibility to enjoy farm activities year-round, guests are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and truly connect with the land.

But the experience doesn’t stop at the paddy fields. Embracing a farm-to-table philosophy, guests are invited to harvest organic fruits and vegetables straight from the gardens and cook them in hands-on, healthy cooking classes. Cultural workshops also enrich the experience, including Balinese coffee brewing, traditional canang making, and more.

Spread across a sprawling 20-hectare area, the farm is designed to host a variety of large-scale events—ranging from luxury hotel corporate gatherings to weddings and team-building retreats. The site can accommodate up to 400 guests at a time, making it an ideal location for both leisure and professional events.

Accommodation options are also expanding, with plans underway for wooden villas and glamping tents. At least 20 eco-friendly wooden lodges are scheduled for completion this year, supported by investments from Singaporean partners aiming to bring an exclusive, nature-integrated lodging experience.

One of the most exciting features of Jatiluwih Eco Farm is its partnership with SGi Air Bali Helicopter. Tourists can now enjoy a scenic aerial journey over Bali’s verdant landscape before landing directly on the farm. The helicopter tour, ideal for visitors from Uluwatu, takes just 30 minutes one-way—or an hour round trip—and includes a complete activity package, all for approximately USD 3,000.

By promoting sustainable tourism and embracing environmental stewardship, Jatiluwih Eco Farm is redefining travel in Bali. It’s more than a destination—it’s an invitation to experience Bali’s agricultural heritage, vibrant culture, and untouched natural beauty in a whole new way. (BT)
