Among the many souvenir shops scattered across Bali, Krisna Oleh-Oleh has risen to become a shopping icon, seamlessly woven into the travel experience on the Island of the Gods.
Founded by Gusti Ngurah Anom, popularly known as Ajik Krisna, the store first opened its doors on May 16, 2007, at Jalan Nusa Indah No. 77, Denpasar.
It all began with the overwhelming enthusiasm of customers for Balinese trinkets sold at his garment business, Cok Konveksi, which inspired Ajik Krisna to create a more organized and complete one-stop souvenir center.
Over time, Krisna Oleh-Oleh has grown rapidly, exceeding its initial sales targets. Just a year after launching its first outlet, a second location was opened at Jalan Nusa Kambangan No. 160A, Denpasar, offering expanded facilities including a spacious parking area and a restaurant.
Today, Krisna boasts seven major outlets strategically located across Bali, such as on Sunset Road, Tuban, Singaraja, Gianyar, and Bypass Ngurah Rai, along with a mini outlet in Jimbaran. The brand has even expanded beyond Bali, opening smaller stores in Surabaya and Jakarta’s Old Town.
Inside Krisna’s stores, visitors are welcomed with a wide array of authentic Balinese products. From snacks like kacang disko, pie susu, and bakpia, to the enticing aroma of Balinese coffee.
Traditional Balinese clothing, handwoven fabrics, trinkets, paintings, sandals, and rattan bags also line the shelves. Prices range from IDR 10,000 to 300,000, making it an affordable option for both local and international tourists.
Krisna Oleh-Oleh also enhances the shopping experience with convenient facilities. Several outlets are equipped with food courts, spacious parking, prayer rooms, and clean restrooms.
Most stores operate from 9 AM to 10 PM, with some staying open until 11 PM. Notably, the Rama Krisna Tuban outlet near Ngurah Rai International Airport is open 24 hours, perfect for travelers looking to grab last-minute souvenirs before or after their flights.
Krisna Oleh-Oleh is not just a place to shop—it has become an essential part of the Bali travel journey. With its wide selection of local products, reasonable prices, and excellent amenities, Krisna offers a fun and fulfilling shopping experience for every visitor. (BT)
